This picture tells a tale of hope
A hope longed for
one that has been wrapped in the cradle of neglect
one rusty and in dire need of resurrection
A tale of a man in dire need of a political messiah
trapped in the running hands of time
A man fettered in a harsh reality but holding on to hope
that at the tail end of this brazen tunnel, light will shine forth
This picture trapped the very moment
This said man meets his purveyor of hope
hands spread in opposite direction
To speak words too heavy for the mouth to utter
I came back to this picture
to remind myself that hope delayed is not a denied verdict
And Though I must slide through this tunnel a little longer
I will glide through, knowing that hope though afar off, is NIGH.
